¡¡¡¡Griazev started to skate as a four-year-old in his
hometown of Perm when his mother read an announcement
that the local skating school was accepting new
students. When he was eleven, Griazev moved to St.
Petersburg to train with Alexei Mishin. His idol in
skating is 1994 Olympic Champion Alexei Urmanov. After a
disappointing performance at the 2002 World Junior
Championships, Griazev took a break from skating for
three months. Then 2002 Olympic Mens Champion Alexei
Yagudin suggested that he joins Tatiana Tarasova's group
in the USA.Griazev relocated in summer 2002.

Tarasova, a former world-class pairs skater, is one of
the most accomplished coaches in figure skating history.
In total, her skaters have won seven Olympic
titles.Tarasova and Elena Chaikovskaya created an ice
theatre "All Stars" in the mid-1980s. Tarasova worked as
a coach and ballet master. Tarasova began training
skaters when she was 19 years old. Tarasova's father was
a well respected hockey coach and her husband is a
famous pianist in Russia.
